Description

2017 Grand Soleil 52 Long Cruise “Estela”

Italian Racing Pedigree, Bluewater Comfort

Cantiere del Pardo has been building Grand Soleil yachts in Forlì, Italy, for more than fifty years, a story that began on the race course with Jean Marie Finot’s Grand Soleil 34. The Long Cruise range was the yard’s answer to sailors who wanted that racing DNA with real room to live aboard, and the 52 LC, drawn by Marco Lostuzzi with interiors by Nauta Design and launched at Cannes in 2017, is its sweet spot: long, powerful and unmistakably Italian.

Estela takes that formula and turns up the volume. Brought up to Sport specification with rod rigging, a hydraulic backstay and upsized Harken electric winches, she carries a tall Sparcraft rig, a 9’6” torpedo keel and crisp Quantum sails, so she points high, accelerates in the puffs and rewards good trim the way a Grand Soleil should. Step below and the mood shifts to light oak, sunshine and quiet, with three private cabins, each with its own electric head. A 1,000 Ah Victron lithium bank, Fischer Panda generator, Spectra watermaker, air conditioning throughout and Starlink mean the anchorage can last as long as you like, and the RIB stays out of sight in the transom garage until it’s time to go ashore. She is built for owners who want to race on Saturday and still enjoy the most comfortable berth in the harbor on Sunday night.

Key Features:

  • Sport specification: rod rigging, hydraulic backstay, Harken Radial 60 and 50 two speed electric winches and fixed point mainsheet
  • Quantum Sport Tri Radial Lite Skin mainsail and 96% Quantum Tri Radial self tacking jib – 2022

  • Fischer Panda 10000i 8 kW generator – 1,050 Hours

INTERIOR ACCOMODATIONS AND LAYOUT

Nauta Design, the Milan studio behind some of the most admired sailing yacht interiors afloat, drew the 52 LC around space and light, and Estela shows it off beautifully. Light oak veneer bulkheads and floors, square overhead fixtures and indirect LED strips under the lockers keep the boat bright and modern, while lateral saloon hatches and forward Skynet windows pull daylight deep into the hull. Three private cabins, three heads and folding berths in the sail locker let her sleep a family or two couples in real comfort with room for crew.

Coming down the companionway you step into a saloon that feels more like a 60 footer than a 52. The electric telescopic table sits at its heart and lowers at the push of a button to make an extra double berth, and the convertible nav station takes a single berth cushion when you need one more bunk. The galley is set up for real cooking, with a three burner range and oven, a microwave, white Corian counters and four Isotherm refrigeration units.

Forward, the owner’s stateroom takes the bow with a pullman berth, HD TV with Apple TV and an en suite head with hand bidet. Aft, two guest cabins sit beneath the cockpit, one with twin berths that convert to a queen, and each has its own head. Every cabin and the saloon has its own Climma air conditioning.
