Need to Refit that Cruising Boat? Want to make that New Boat Really Special? CUSTOM INSTALLATIONS??? No Problem! |
Part of buying a new boat is getting it the way YOU want it done, not the way I want it done. It’s your boat. It’s my job to get done what you want done. Hence I do a lot of custom installations on boats that I sell. Installing basic radars, autopilots, chart plotters and other electronics are no problem. Anyone can do that. What I am talking about are the custom installations that make a boat different from any other. If it's gotta be installed and or built in wood, stainless, aluminum or fibreglass, I can tell you that I have probably already done it. If it's reasonable and you want it done, I can make it happen! All the photos below are of a Beneteau 393 3 cabin that a client wanted to outfit for diving. Because a 3 cabin boat does not have a deep cockpit locker, the installer and I figured out a way to install the dive compressor and 110vt water maker in part of the aft cabin (going left to right, photo 1). This was then covered up in a custom wall that was removable (photo 2). The boat also had custom davits to hold a 12 RIB with an outboard hoist and the davit also were incorporated into the stern rail so that the stern rail could also hold 5 dive tanks on each side (Photos 3 and 4). A flat panel TV was installed on the bulkhead (photo 5). The boat also needed a gen-set and without a deep cockpit locker to install it the decision was made to disassemble the forward pullman berth and custom build the 8kw Westerbeke gen-set and new auxiliary fuel tank there (photos 6-10). Once the work was done the berth looked the same as it was from the factory. Photos 11 and 12 are of a Beneteau 423 with a custom icemaker installed in the bulkhead in the galley and of the same boats cockpit locker which had the back of the icemaker, a dive compressor and a generator all installed. |
